Be Creative

To create anything is to risk criticism.  Comments can pierce the soul of an artist or craftsman.  Something that is of you, brought into being with effort and persistence is suddenly there in the open exposed.  It is a risk worth taking.  In a world of those who have settled for being entertained the one question they ask themselves is, “Am I amused by this, does it trigger the voyeur in me or satisfy the basic needs?”  So instead of being creative to perfect a skill or develop a capacity one settles for the familiar dummy.  It will not add sustenance to your life but it will make you forget what you need.  Soothe the loss and keep you busy as the hours and days of your life fly past.  Being creative is dynamic sometimes tortuous, it can be frustrating but you become someone.  You discover what lies within.  You dare to bring it out and lay it at the feet of others.  Do not despair of criticism.  It is the spur to action the artist needs.  You are alive!  You can be hurt!  It’s what happens when you take action in this world rather than suck on a dummy and merely observe.
